Love this podcast!

I love reading along with this podcast and finally reading a lot of classic books that I’d never read before then hearing their commentary in the show. It’s like a book club with two great friends. Amazing! :)

Fun, educational and timely!

A fun, educational, and timely podcast! With book bans spreading across the country, everyone should be paying attention and actually reading challenged books. This podcast is already one of my regulars.

Doesn’t Deliver

The description promises a podcast that discusses and understands banned books and authors, but I don’t feel like they made much effort to understand Shel Silverstein. They mentioned his 2 Grammy’s but didn’t know that one of them was for Where the Sidewalk Ends, which is actually one of his banned books. The amount of speculation and judgement about Silverstein and his personal life (and his feet?) felt disrespectful and gossipy. It took up more time than the actual discussion of why his book was banned. I don’t mind chatty podcasts; I enjoy them if the chat has some substance and I felt like that was missing here.
