Just two guys on a call
This show is an entrepreneurial rallying cry. I have learned so much from listening to this show. Thank you both for doing this so dependably. And thank you for backdating to episode 1 on this app. Let the binge begin!
Running your machine with heightened senses
I believe its good, especially when you make a part for the 1st time to run your machine a little bit scared.
I don’t mean be scared of your machine or be scared of breaking tools, but rather have massive respect for your machine and what kind of damage it is capable of doing from just 1 little mistake. There are so many details and variables you have to be on top of before you make your 1st chip it’s easy to forget 1 small step.
By running your machine scared you naturally heighten your senses and can stay super focused and locked in. Don’t ever become over confident, always be aware that something can happen at any moment and have quick reflexes to identify the problem and stop the machine when necessary.
In 30 years of running cnc’s I’ve never had a serious crash or accident. Remember, a cnc can’t think, it does EXACTLY what you tell it to do.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THIS…
I’ll start off by saying this. I love watching both of y’all on YouTube and I love listening to your podcast. I am subscribed to every social media both of you have. I have been following for over 2 1/2 years. I respect what you do, and I appreciate the effort you both put into the trade, and the advancement and learning of the trade. With this being said, I also want to say one other thing…. You spend alot of time talking about the Kern, and other machines you have, and the way you handle business, etc… I am a new machinist. Been operating / setting up : programming for 3 years. I can relate to a lot of what you speak about, but there is MUCH MORE that is said, that I can not relate to because of my experience and position. I find myself wishing that you talked more to the younger guys, and talked about things beneficial to us. Hearing about speeds and feeds, and dealing with co workers, and the right time to go into business for yourself, and the best way to LEARN MASTERCAM. Things like this.. this is the info I’m always searching deeply for. Thank you. I love y’all, and God Bless! This is not criticism. Simply my thought process. Thanks guys.
