As Jon opens the Haslab Marvel Legends Sentinel, he and Steven discuss if this is the last Sentinel anyone would ever need. A LOT happens in the first trailer for the 3rd Tom Holland movie. Does it give away too much or is the movie so bonkers that this is only the first 15 minutes? Jon and Steven discuss the confirmations, teases and rumors surrounding a movie that looks like the sequel to Loki and a live action Into the Spider Verse. Plus, how did the Haslab Galactus go from not being funded to unlocking every single stretch goal? [EP242]
Caffeinated Comics – Eternals Trailer
Marvel once again takes characters you don’t care about and makes you care. Jon and Steven talk about the shaky history of The Eternals and how Jack Kirby’s strive to create a new mythology led to his fourth draft of Gods on Earth. Plus, Kirby’s greatest inkers, mixing up a hero’s villain type and the penultimate Galactus tally. [EP241]
Caffeinated Comics – The Substack Rebellion
A streaming platform is poaching the “A” list Marvel and DC writers. As creative teams drop Batman, Spider-Man, X-Men and more, is this a win for talent, a blow for beloved characters or both? Plus, Hasbro releases the Fantastic Four, omnibuses lose their font and lots of streaming shows return. [EP240]
Fun Channel thank you !
Great Show , Great channel
One of my favorite podcasts! I listen every week. Just wish I could download it in .mp3 instead of .wma through iTunes. Keep up the great work!
I started listening to the show once I saw an ad for it in Chimera's Comics, and I've been an avid listener ever since I saw it back in 2013. This around the time I was getting into comics, and it's been great hearing the guys who have been into that culture for years give recommendations, which was useful in becoming as fluent in comic book culture as I am today. I love that they don't stick to just comic books, and that the show naturally ends up on topics like video games or classic movies, (2 topics I also love) making the podcast seem much more naturally flowing than other, more segmented shows. It all comes together to make a consistently great show that I try to listen to as soon as possible each week. (Also I was promised a shoutout if I wrote this review, and I got a shoutout on the most recent episode, so hopefully this creates enough demand for me to be a guest (just kidding!))
