Welcome to Hashing Out the Law, Episode Twenty Eight - California Gangs. This is the podcast where we discuss and hash out legal issues and/or topics.
On this episode I’ll be speaking with Mr. Martin M. Flores
Martin grew up in the Boyle Heights area of East Los Angeles and after the loss of his youngest brother to a drive by shooting in 1994, he focused his energy to work with gangs in order to redirect the minds of young people and get them on a different path. Martin has over 25 years of professional experience working with gangs throughout Southern California. He has testified as a gang expert in Los Angeles, Ventura, Riverside, Tulare, Contra Costa, Santa Barbara, Sacramento, and Orange Counties. Mr. Flores has consulted on over, 350 Crip/Blood cases and over 700 Hispanic gang cases including those involving prison and street gangs throughout the state of California. His cases have ranged from vandalism to multiple homicide cases. He has worked in hundreds of gang territories in order to understand their rivalries, graffiti, tattoos, territories, history, and signs. (Recorded 6/28/19)
