Purify Our Actions
For a Christian, there is an ongoing struggle against the impulses of what is in us by nature (flesh) by laying hold of Jesus Christ gives us by grace (life). How does a Christian have victory over the flesh? According to Galatians 5, yield to the Holy Spirit and follow His lead, do not gratify the works of the flesh, and cultivate the fruit of the Spirit (vv. 22-23).

Bear Fruit
John 15 teaches us that when we abide in Christ, we open ourselves up to all that God has for us. When we are connected to the vine—that is, Christ—we reflect His love to those around us, and we can take heart as we face persecution, because we are equipped by the Holy Spirit.

Jesus prevailed over betrayal by willingly following God's plan. He allowed the betrayal of Judas and his own arrest and accepted being unfairly treated because God's plan of redemption was being fulfilled.
