City Cast Denver

Have followed this podcast for a couple of years and i do still believe it’s a great daily discussion of what’s going on in town. However… Some of the platformed guests are baffling (e.g a multipart series punching up Boebert who pretty clearly just hates denver, you know, the topic of the show and the city we live in) and Paul feels like he’s actively striving to be a contrarian anytime something remotely hot button comes up. It’s frustrating because when the show is good, it’s very good. Not every point that disagrees with basic logic needs to be given equal weight, y’all.

Media mogul and podcast host Bree Davies accuses Colorado legend John Elway of killing his best friend of 40 years, and asks listeners to send in their “Elway drinking stories,” all within ten seconds of sharing that Fire On the Mountain is her favorite place to watch nuggets games. That’s the cerebral content you’re stepping in from these folks. At least the other host admitted to not being from Colorado, which is about the most positive thing one can say about this brutal listen of a podcast.

Ok - as I said in the title I love this podcast, but the missing star is in protest over the vegan hatred in the last episode. I am saying this as someone who is not vegan, but also respects the reasons behind people choosing animal welfare over their own needs. As for vegans lecturing people on their own life choice - I personally think it’s fair game. They are passionate about their lifestyle because they are animal lovers and I respect that. Also - my son was a vegetarian for several years and was constantly lectured by meat eaters on why she should eat animals - now back as a meat eater he is rarely attacked by vegans or vegetarians on why he should not eat meat. It’s so fashionable these days to hate on vegans and it’s become ridiculous. They are lowering their carbon footprint, they are looking out for the welfare of animals. In my book, they’re pretty darn good people fighting for a better world.

Fabulous and informative pod. I never miss an episode. I love the diverse opinions and the ability to stay up-to-date with the news in my community. I appreciate all the hosts and I’m grateful that this podcast exists. Thank you for all that you do and for bringing your authentic selves to the listeners. We don’t need fakey fakey people, so keep being you!
