chatty, and circular
The podcasters have a very male-oriented view: they review mostly guys movies in a guy way. I have listened to 5 epidodes now because I like cinema and I am hoping to learn interesting facts, but I find the speakers' reviews long winded, repetitive, overlapping, and really mostly concerned with action movies. I am a woman, I like a variety of different genres, so I am disappointed at their limited choice of movies. And I happen to disagree also with their personal appreciation of the movies they choose to review. It is a matter of subjectivity, certainly. but when the 2 guys wax on glorifying shlock James Cameron over Ridley Scott, or rigth winger Clint Eastwood over Sydney Pollack, then I am aghast at what they value (or ignore) in cinema, and I am dropping out. Why aren't they reviewing French movies ever, by the by?
