Canyon Creek Sermons is a collection of weekly services from the pastors at Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church. Canyon Creek exists to empower people to pursue their call in Christ. Our hope is that people experience a deep and transforming relationship with Jesus. Our further hope is that as people grow in their relationship with Christ they will also grow in relationship with one another. Our services are Sundays at 10am.
Part 2 | Giving Thanks Psalm 111
In Psalm 111:4 the poet states that God CAUSES his wondrous works to be remembered by us. First, why would God need to do that; and secondly, how does He do it? This Sunday we'll look at Psalm 111 to find the answers to these questions and it will lead us to remember our need to be Thankful people and understand that realized Gratitude has a spiritual result which is Humility. This Sunday let's join with this poet and "Give Thanks to the LORD with my whole heart."
Part 1 | Giving Thanks
We are entering a new series this week called "Giving Thanks." Our Family Ministry Director, Zakk Uhler, will be teaching from Luke 17:11-19 where Jesus heals 10 lepers. Come and join our service to look once again at the compassion of Jesus and the response He desires from His people.
Part 9 | Benediction
The Blessing or Benediction is the end of the Christian Worship Service. God, out of his love for his children, sends us into the week filled with his blessing. This is meant to fill the Christian with the confidence that the presence of God is not only found in the worship experience but day by day as we live lives giving him glory. This Sunday we will be looking at a benediction found in Numbers 6:22-27. It is known as the Priestly Blessing benediction and it is just as powerful today as it was when Aaron prayed over the people of Israel thousands of years ago.
Part 8 | Sacraments
Our Intentional Worship
Part 7 | Preaching
Why do we take 25 or more minutes each Sunday to teach or preach? Why do we think that an exposition and application of God's Word is vitally important to our congregation? This Sunday we will look at one of Paul's recorded sermons from Acts 13 and see some indications pointing to why "teaching" is vital to our church.
Part 6 | Prayer
Part 6 Prayer
Prayer is central to the Christian life. Many questions come with something so important: Why do we pray? How do we pray? What should we say? This Sunday we are looking at what Jesus had to say about prayer, plain and simple.
