Dr Gordon is an Acute Medicine Consultant working South East Scotland. She shares her experience of leadership and management during the COVID-19 pandemic and discusses working in Acute Internal Medicine.

AI in Clinical Research Fellowships (13 Sep 2023)
In this episode, Dr Marilena Giannoudi finds out more about artificial intelligence (AI) from Dr Joshua Au Yeung. They discuss what AI means and Dr Joshua Au Yeung explains how AI is used as a tool to help clinicians. They explore key skills that are needed to work in AI, such as coding, and Dr Joshua Au Yeung goes on to encourage anyone interested in AI to reach out to find out more and commit to the field as soon as they can.
Dr Joshua Au Yeung is a Specialty Registrar in Neurology working in London who recently undertook an Out Of Programme Experience (OOPE) as a Clinical Research Fellow in Artificial Intelligence to gain a deeper understanding of AI in healthcare. This involved working with a team called "Cogstack" operating primarily in Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital and King's College Hospital, an NHS-grown group that works to implement natural language processing (text-based AI) into clinical departments.
Dr Marilena Giannoudi is a Cardiology Registrar based in Leeds. She is a member of the Trainees and Members’ Committee, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and is currently undertaking a PhD.

Working abroad (30 Aug 2023)
Dr Marilena Giannoudi discusses working abroad with Dr Cahal Rafferty who worked in an ED in Adelaide, South Australia for around 18 months. They discuss the application process, costs, benefits and potential challenges, with Dr Rafferty openly sharing their experience of working abroad.
Dr Rafferty is a University of Liverpool graduate, who after foundation training worked in ED in Adelaide, South Australia for 18 months before returning to the NHS to undertake IMT training in Wessex.
Dr Marilena Giannoudi is a cardiology registrar based in Leeds currently undertaking a PhD, and the podcast lead for RCPE's Trainees and Members' Committee.

Specialised Foundation Programme (16 Aug 2023)
Today Dr Marilena Giannoudi interviews Dr Rishab Makam and Javeria Tariq on their experiences of applying for the Specialised Foundation Programme.
Dr Rishab Makam is an Academic FY1 in Hull and Javeria Tariq is a final year medical student in Leeds who will begin Specialised Foundation training in August.
Dr Marilena Giannoudi is the T&MC Podcast Lead and Vice-Chair for Careers and Communications.

PACES23 - Introduction (02 Aug 2023)
In the first episode of our PACES23 series, Dr Kat Ralston and Dr Hannah Preston interview Dr Rod Harvey, RCPE Dean of Examinations, and discuss the new PACES23 exam.
They discuss the rationale and process behind the update to the MCRP PACES exam and explore the changes to the exam in detail for candidates sitting PACES23. Dr Rod Harvey discusses the seven skills that are assessed over the five stations, as well as sharing some useful tips on what examiners are looking for, and advice on preparing for the exam.
Dr Rod Harvey is a Consultant Acute Physician and Endocrinologist, working in Inverness. He is also the Dean of Examinations at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
Dr Kat Ralston is a Geriatric Medicine Registrar and member of the Trainees and Members’ Committee, currently working in Edinburgh.
Dr Hannah Preston is a Renal Registrar and Co-Chair of the Trainees and Members’ Committee, also working in Edinburgh.

Dr Libby Sampey talks to Dr Marilena Giannoudi about managing life at work as a Foundation Year One doctor. They begin by considering how to prepare - exploring expenses and membership fees - before moving on to discuss supervisors and leave. Dr Marilena Giannoudi shares some useful guidance about staying on top of your portfolio, and gives advice on the benefits of taking part in social events.
Dr Libby Sampey is a Foundation Year Doctor currently exploring a career in Palliative Care. She has an interest in medical teaching and alongside being a member of RCPE’s Trainees and Members’ Committee is the junior regional representative for the British Geriatrics Society.
Dr Marilena Giannoudi is a Cardiology Registrar based in Leeds. She is a Vice-Chair of the RCPE Trainees and Members’ Committee, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and is currently undertaking a PhD.
