only 4 stars because I miss him!!!

So fun, so funny, and such a delight! The music is a treat and the stories make my day. My only regret in finding this podcast is the irregular posting of new episodes.

Excessive grooming

So I have a cute and very sweet Tortie named Kimmy. I rescued her from an animal shelter when she was two years old and now she’s a senior cat. The only thing is that nowadays she seems to be well as the title says, cleaning her fur to much to the point where most of her underbelly is bald. It stops at her front legs, basically where she can’t easily reach without contorting her body. Even the back of one of her front legs is bald and she’s working on her cute little ‘bunny feet’ (my mom calls them that cause they’re all white and look like bunny feet). We tried putting some salmon oil spray on her food but she ate around it and made her food last longer than usual. Now I have to give her medicine which is what the vet called Kitty Valium. What worries me is that she has created a hard spot around one of her nipples and whatever is inside of it is moving down her body, with the bulk of it staying around the nipple. Should I be concerned? The vet said try warm compresses but I don’t think he knows how difficult it is to get a cat to lay on its back long enough for the compress to work. I’m a first time cat owner and I’ve been getting the run around as to what is causing it. First allergies, then her food was causing it,
but now it seems to be stress which is funny because I have the most stress free environment so I’m confused about what is stressing her.
Sorry this ran long but Any Advice would be great.
