There are a lot of people who are good at starting things, but they don’t have what it takes to finish. The sixth step toward spiritual success, in this sermon series, is finishing. Finishing the task that God has given you. In Nehemiah chapter 6, Nehemiah has finished the wall. As we go through the process of sanctification we are being made like Christ. This is God’s will for our lives. We are to stay focused, stay on the wall and complete the task, just as Nehemiah did in Nehemiah 6:3. God’s work is a great work!

Most of the tasks that God will call us to do will take more than one person. The Bible teaches that spiritual success is being what God wants us to be and doing what God wants us to do. True spiritual success begins with a burden, as we see in the life of Nehemiah. God always has a purpose for us, and when He has a purpose for us, He always prepares His people to accomplish that purpose. Our purpose as a church, as families, and as individuals, is to worship God and glorify Him by fulfilling The Great Commission. How do we prepare? Pastor Cameron Cloud shares four things from the life of Nehemiah, in Nehemiah 2, that we must have from God, to prepare us to accomplish the task.

On the road to spiritual success, a burden moves to a vision. A vision is having the mind of God about a situation and believing God will do something about the situation through us. Pastor Cameron Cloud shows us three things from Nehemiah 2:4-5 about our minds as God begins to give us the mind of God. With the mind of God, we can do what He wants us to do, just as Nehemiah did.
