Conversations with the people who influence the way we play, paint and consume Warhammer 40,000.

Best of Champions: He’s one out of the Box! Stephen Box at the Vanguard.

Best of Champions: He’s one out of the Box! Stephen Box at the Vanguard.

He's boxing smart. He's thinking outside the box. Nothing about this box is recycled. You can't keep a lid on this box!

Seriously - I could keep this up all day. Stephen Box came to 40k from a career in bodybuilding and fitness and has quickly become one of the most recognized names in the game. So, what drives him? How did he get good? And what's it like being paid to stand around in your undies? All these questions and more answered in this very fun 'Best of' episode.
    Enjoy!
And don't forget to like the facebook page, subscribe and review the podcast if you can - it'd be a huge help.

Ep 10: How to make friends and smash things with hammers with Bambam Hunter!

Ep 10: How to make friends and smash things with hammers with Bambam Hunter!

Brian 'Bambam' Hunter is a lgend of the game in the midwest of America. He's also a proud Space Wolf player, an event TO, a comic book store owner AND the voice of the Flying Monkeys Podcast. Yeah ... he kinda does it all.
Bam and I had an inauspicious start to our 40k friendship. It's a good story and we get it out of the way right at the start of our chat. And actually, it becomes a theme for a lot of this talk - the idea that having a conversation with someone when you disagree about something, rather than just slapping a brutal judgement on them, will mean a better life for everyone.
Go on - give it a listen.

Best of Champions: Two thin coats of Duncan Rhodes!

Best of Champions: Two thin coats of Duncan Rhodes!

He's a legend of Warhammer, a household name, a man that has taught so many of us the ways of two thin coats and the techniques to paint our models. He's also just a hell of a nice guy.
This conversation is almost two years old now, but it's all still relevant, and it's a lot of fun! It's a shoe in for the Best of series. Hope you like it!

EP 9: Boris the Bulgarian on the Beauty of Being at Bad moon!

Boris Michev is a bloody good player and an even better businessman. He was best overall at Warhammer Fest '23, he made top 8 at his first ever LVO in 2020 and he's won GT's.
But he's best known as one of the bosses at Bad Moon Cafe in London.
In this episode we talk about how it all began, the relationship with GW and what it takes to be successful running a Local Game Store oin the heart of London.

Best of Champions: Reece Robbins OMG, ITC and LVO MVP

Best of Champions: Reece Robbins OMG, ITC and LVO MVP

Reece Robbins, aka Reecius, is an absolute legend. Arguably the most influencial person in the game outside of GW HQ. He and Frankie G created the FLG and the FLGN, the LVO, the ITC and more acronyms besides!!
In this chat we talk about the history of all of from very (very) humble beginnings, through to the facial hair of today.

EP 8: This is what my thing does! JT McDowell - the voice of Play On.

Play on Tabletop is massive. 290,000 subscibers on youtube, a video that boast mnore than a million views, a loyal following. Not bad for a group of friends from Canada who jumped into this just a few years ago.
JT McDowell is the very well known voice of the channel. He writes scripts and does voice overs as well as appearing on the channel. He's also a pretty damn good painter and a hell of a nice guy.
In this episode we go behind the scenes to find out what it takes to make one of the Play On Tabletop battle reports, and what else they have going on!
