Brian, Blake and Richard are back with an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!

Brian has found a new 335 style semi-hollow, and he is dreaming about buying one, but it's not in stock and he is not happy. His search continues, and Richard mentions an off-the-wall brand for him to try but Brian is hanging on to his pedal bucks. So the guys talk about Brian's DIY skills and his levels of desire to build his own guitar line.

Richard's favorite female crooner, Adele, has changed the way we listen to music on Spotify and this sparks some debate. Blake is not a big Spotify user and has some good reasons for this including their streaming royalties. He also made a different dinner for Thanksgiving and tells us all about it whilst Brian looks on in wonderment.

Brian has played a gig and he had a fantastic time and the guys chat about it and rapidly discover Brian may have forgotten one or two significant details...but it is not really an issue as the amount of joy in Brian's voice is palpable and wondrous.  He took his 335 too just to be extra punk and no one buys it. The guys then chat about Country music and Richard shows his complete lack of knowledge despite watching a documentary and getting Kenny Rogers mixed up with Willie Whatsisface...

Blake's lighting arrangement, Thrice plugging, Xbox naming hassles, Unpopular Guitarpinions, Tater guitars, Brian and the Unknowns...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!

384 - Brass Against and Boomer Bends - Well that's one way to gain fame and notoriety I suppose

Brian, Blake and Richard are back with an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!

Blake tells us all about his pirate fantasy as we delve back into the world of tone chasing once more and he talks about an interestingly housed pedal from an eco friendly source. Richard has seen the new Fender Player Acoustasonic and he still wants one but he feels he isn't ready to spend that much money. Brian on the other hand is not interested unless it's made by Charles Whitfill and diverts the conversation into the painful world of pedal naming.

It's the 2 year anniversary of the launch of the Wampler Terraform and the guys talk about how much they love that particular tiny little bundle of modulation goodness. Richard also drops some hints about some products that Wampler have been working on.

There was some news this week about the lead singer of a band called Brass Against - you may have already heard about them in the news - and their lead singer's now infamous stunt at a festival. Was it a travesty or was it marketing cunning at its finest - we are certainly all talking about it and Brian considers the pros and cons of this type of approach to marketing.

Tim Henson and boomer bends, Brian's Shuttle, Dr. Hook, Rubber asphyxiation suits, the return of the Wamp stamp...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!

383 - Introducing Tater Shwift and is there a new music revival happening?

Brian, Blake and Richard are back with an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!

The guys have some technical issues as they go to record and this makes Richard 5% more angry and so Brian and Blake take it upon themselves to audition their British accents.  Richard nearly bought a new pedal but was confused by the wording in the specs. Luckily Brian pointed out how stupid he was being (well, actually he lets us into a little industry secret) and all was well in the world.

There is an untypical serious moment as the guys look at the tragedy that occurred at the Astroworld festival and some interesting views are shared. It is not a subject that gets the normal lighthearted treatment, and there is a lot of speculation as nobody knows the full details,  but the guys felt it needed to be discussed.

There's a gorgeous looking new Wah pedal on the market which the guys look at before complicating matters with scurrilous rumors. Industry experts have made a large prediction about the state of the industry which the guys discuss before looking to the aforementioned Taterson "Shwifty" Shwift.

Cheese Donuts, Techno Viking, Exposure bucks, Ad rants, The James Bond chord...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!

382 - Batweiser beer, Fender shopping, and Analogman fakes

Brian, Blake and Richard are back with an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!

The guys reflect on last week's guest appearance from the GristleMeister Greg Koch and Richard has already ordered a beanie. The guys then talk about the news from Chase Bliss and Cooper FX and Blake has some insights into the origins and back story of the deal - some of which sound very familiar to the situation Brian found himself in.  Brian then gives us some insight into the inner workings of a pedal company and the things that excite him about the business.

Fender have bought Presonus in a move that brings them firmly into the world of DAW software and hi tech music production hardware so the guys talk about what this may or may not mean before flying off on a total tangent.  Brian then tells us about a video that Mike from Analogman posted showing him destroying fake King of Tone pedals which caused some controversy on the internet.

JHS bought out their take on the classic RAT circuit with their new multi rat pedal and Brian gives us a view on the technology with a wry look at some of the criticism that has been unfairly piled on JHS. Richard then imagines an ultimate fighting competition between Josh and Brian and it just gets very silly.

Robot Tuners (AGAIN), Internet Armchairs, Wampler bedspreads, Wish suggestions, the 27 club...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!

381 - Greg Koch - The King of Gristle!

381 - Greg Koch - The King of Gristle!

Brian, Blake and Richard are joined by special guest Greg Koch this week with an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!

Disturbing and glorious! This episode opens at full speed and doesn't let up - so strap yourself in and prepare for the journey. Greg gives us a vast number of cool insights into his background and musical career whilst keeping us all hugely entertained with his trademark sense of humor and gristle based panache.

Greg has some signature pedals - including the Diabolical Gristle Tone Manipulator -  so Brian asks a little bit about them and how they came to be before the inevitable conversation about food leads on to a little talk about Greg's journey to his current tea(coffee)-total state via Keith Moon's biography...I did say it would be a wild ride.

There are some serious points raised when Greg raises his own unique personality traits and how they defined the beginning of his life - he speaks pretty candidly and doesn't shy away from the truth. He also gives some great advice about how to get started in the music business, what it takes, what it doesn't take, and how he made it through all of the pitfalls that were placed in his way. You are definitely not going to want to miss this one!

We had a great time recording this show, Greg was a lot of fun and we definitely enjoyed our brief trip to electric gristleland so sit back, pour yourself a coffee, and enjoy this week's Chasing Tone!

Check Greg's website out and buy some cool merch:

380 - How to stop your pedal battery from draining rapidly

380 - How to stop your pedal battery from draining rapidly

Brian, Blake and Richard are back with an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!

Would you buy a Brian Wampler action figure ? Of course not because you are not deranged, but if you did, what accessories would it ship with? What about super cheap pedals? Are you into those? The guys have their say on a new range of ultra budget pedals that have just been announced.

Brian has one simple trick to make your battery last longer in your pedal - you don't want to miss this stunning revelation. There have been more guitar related crimes (and not just Richard's playing) but there's a nice twist in this story, which leads us into a fascinating mini history of a surprising custom shop that made some interesting guitars.

Richard attempts (very unconvincingly) to hoodwink Blake into believing there are bizarre fashion related rules in the UK and fails. The guys then talk about playing a guitar with a bow and it turns out Brian has already bought something...

Opaque pedals, Hillbilly Dentistry, 90s Styling, Action Figures, The green taint...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!

No Context, Not Engaged

Listened to an episode. There’s potential here I want to think, but these guys talk in a way that excludes listeners. I didn’t feel like I was spoon fed context to what they were referring throughout the subjects they went into. I had no idea what they were on about. As a Rogan fan—he got me into podcasts—you never need to google what he’s talking about.

Good luck guys. You seem cool enough. Hope to catch a better episode.
