Brian, Blake and Richard are back with an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!

Support Woes! Brian is feeling mega-ranty because he doesn't understand why internet induced impatience has led to people asking social media for support first instead of  contacting the company's support. Hear him seethe as Richard and Blake poke the bear with a big stick.  He does have a point though.

Brian is finding the internet a stressful environment currently and Richard suggests some relaxation techniques. One of them involves Bacon and Ice cream. It didn't quite have the desired effect on Brian but he says he will try anything once if bacon is involved. But not if cookies are required. Richard teases us with the next Wampler release but is typically coy, and he also has a page turner for when he practices learning Tab but he feels he also needs a big cape for his keyboard solos.

Should Brian downsize his guitar collection? No of course he should not. Blake and Richard reassure him that 16 is the very bare minimum he can live with. How do you decide how many you should keep? Do you get emotional with guitars as art pieces? And what about rotating them in your playing - do  you like to swap out your playing guitar regularly?? By the time you answer this we may have all been transported to Proxima Centauri to reseed the human population with Bruce Dickinson anyhow...

Ratsbane, Zuckerspammary, Punching koalas, Angry answerphone messages, Superbrian, Neon green guitars, Portishead... It's all in this week's Chasing Tone!

373 - Dumble Jam, The Woodshed Guitar Experience, Electric Cars

Brian, Blake and Richard are back with an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!

Brian's been to the Woodshed Guitar experience in Nashville and relays the event's happenings. He was not happy with his initial choice of accommodation but it was probably all forgotten about as soon as he discovered the ancient art of drunken trampolining. Are you a high maintenance individual? Turns out Brian might be...listen in on his outrageous demands and his morning routine nuances and caffeination expectations. Oh he also jammed with Brent Mason and (virtually) salivated over Robben Ford's Dumble.

Brian has secret Jazz leanings and this has blown Richard's mind. Its not just cabbage related but maybe there is a a reference point. Can Richard influence Brian with more random prog rock? Probably not, but he tries, and discovered Brian knows his 80's pop! We also discover that Brian played another instrument in the past...

Blake has had a go in a Tesla and he liked it...he liked it a lot. So much so that Brian really, really wants one. But he hates driving! He wants something totally autonomous that drives him around his estate in style so he can just kick back with a craft IPA and his crispy new balance shoes. Did you know there were Eggs hidden in the Tesla ? And not the chocolatey type either.

Are pedals the baseball trading cards of the music world? Brian laments over his new revelation, possibly formulated under the influence of excess caffeine, and the guys talk about the concept of collectables. Richard has opinions, some of them make vague sense, the rest are just his normal ranty outbursts.

Angry Englishman, Some artists are terrible people, Brian's Flippage, a terrible dad joke, Redbull bike festival, Horse dancing ... It's all in this week's Chasing Tone!

372 - Pummelling phasers, Replacing pickguards, Capacitors and Resistors

Brian, Blake and Richard are back with an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!

Is Brian the Larry David of the pedal world? He certainly resembles him according to Richard and the guys chat about some TV before Blake notices Brian isn't paying full attention. Strymon have released a new Phaser with an interesting name and Richard loves the look of it. Brian is not yet convinced but the guys chat about it and whether or not you need that many options for a phaser before Blake waxes lyrical about the depths of modulation he wishes to reach before the guys talk about pedal aesthetics and minimalism.

Fender have announced the new Player Plus range and they are going to sit right at the top end of their "Made in Mexico" line with some colors that got leaked. This causes Brian to go to an Italian website and he becomes confused by cookies. Mmm...Cosmic Jade...and is Dark Night the Antigua burst of this generation of Fender guitars?

Richard has attempted the simplest piece of guitar modification possible - and it went horribly pear shaped - so he tells us about exactly what went wrong and why you should listen to the advice of others. Except him. He's one of the top three stupidest people on this episode. The guys try and sell him on the benefit of a decent soldering station. Yes, it got nerdy as hell at this point.

Is there anything nicer than a sea-foam green guitar? What about a sea-foam green guitar back scratcher? How about one branded by Joe Bonamassa? Yes, we have sent our hard earned dollars to the Joe B marketing machine and the guys perform a "live" review.  At the time of recording Blake was preparing to talk to Misha Mansoor of Periphery and the guys look a little at his music and his business.

Maximum Self Oscillation, Nu-X or Nux, The Hot Tub of manly diseases, The Geriatric Eagles, Disgusting plastic wrap, Soldering stations... It's all in this week's Chasing Tone!

371 - Daniel Steinhardt from The GigRig and co-host of That Pedal Show

371 - Daniel Steinhardt from The GigRig and co-host of That Pedal Show

Brian, Blake and Richard are back and joined by Daniel Steinhardt in an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!

This week we are stoked to have Daniel Steinhardt from The GigRig.com and That Pedal Show joining us for a lengthy chat about capacitors and resistors. He tells us a fantastic story about Yoshi from BOSS and his origins in engineering, and then spins off into telling us all the story of how he went from a touring guitarist to running his own electronics company. It's sounds very much like it has been quite the awesome journey so far!

Brian get's to test his hillbilly Englo-stralian accent on a real Australian, and Dan talks a little bit about his early influences and the music scene down under before he had his first quasi-religious experience with a classic pedal.  It sparked a lifelong love of pedals and that certainly comes across with a natural passion that shines through in Dan's stories.

Dan also tells us a lot about his amazing relationship with industry legend and his partner in crime Mick Taylor, and the guys find out about how That Pedal Show came to be. He also tells us about the work that goes into that show before breaking down his dream rig - and Dan has definitely played played through one or two pieces of kit in his time.  He's even given Brian some more food for thought and perhaps a new purchase looms on the horizon?

We all take a different musical journey in life, and Dan's video last year made us all think about our own love of the instrument, of music, and the circles we keep as we make our own way through this journey and our own connections to creativity. The podcast may get deep at some points so strap yourself in for a ride it's not your usual episode...

The Last Blockbuster, Elgar's beard, Hear the guys all say 'wow' like Owen Wilson, Roger Mayer, Natural feel for pedal order, Brians RF Chicken coop ... It's all in this week's Chasing Tone!

370 - Onlyfans (of electronics), Dave Grohl Pranks, Snake Theory, Parts Shortage

Brian, Blake and Richard are back with an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!

Something has happened to Brian and Blake - they've started to talk all polite and well mannered - has Richard infected them with a dose of Britishness? Did you catch Dave Grohl trolling some mean folk? The guys chat with reverence and awe over his amazing prank delivery and the concept of a mobile stage, arial guitar licks, and paintball guns.

Is Brian wearing any pants? Are they underpants or overpants, it's all very confusing for him, and becomes doubly so when the conversation moves on to the famous actor Idris Elba who Brian has never heard of. Logan Paul? Different story...Remember last week when Brian found a four inch snake? Well this week he encountered a relative and had to dispatch it humanely. He expounds on his theory about snakes, you wont be disappointed by it before he and Blake ponder life on the road.

Brian has come up with a new circuit! Its got him all excited and he drops a hint about what it may be...#itdefinitelyisntametalzone. Meanwhile, the gear industry is suffering from a major parts shortage, and we find ourselves bidding against major companies and governments for precious  OpAmp chips.

Theres a special jack socket out that makes a bold claim about its advantages. The guys chat about this and the marketing of it and then a little bit of schooling on jacks and TRS connectors. Brian's off to this years Woodshed Guitar Experience and gives us a little preview.

Smoking caffeine, Richard's rumored water bong, Frog / Centipede horrors, Digi-der-oos, Mojo by the gallon, Never fix your bosses sons' laptop... It's all in this week's Chasing Tone!

369 - Imminent Tube Shortage, Brad Paisley, G.A.S. is about the chase

369 - Imminent Tube Shortage, Brad Paisley, G.A.S. is about the chase

Brian, Blake and Richard are back with an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!

Do you think the best part of Gear Acquisition Syndrome (G.A.S) is the chase? You know, that period when you have ordered something but it is yet to come and you soak up everything the internet has to offer? Its Blake's birthday and he has ordered a special guitar and is almost ready to graduate to long trousers, Brian is contemplating giant displays, and Richard is shaking his fist at a cloud...before some rude person with a clipboard angers the resident canine alarm system.

Greta Van Fleet have turned a series of humorous memes aimed against them into marketing success via TikTok so the guys give us their views on the platform before breaking down some old fashioned marketing trends versus more modern personality based marketing. Blake hasn't taken to TikTok as much as Brian but maybe this is about to change.

Is there about to be a tube shortage? Mike Matthews' latest prediction may not be all its cracked up to be and Richard shows off just how stupid he is before professor Brian Google schools him...and what about tube based pedals, how will it affect those and how in fact do they do what they do so darn well?

Brian took a trip to see Brad Paisley and hung out back stage. He may drop a hint or two and may have accidentally played one or two guitars that perhaps he shouldn't have...

RIP Dusty Hill, Dirty Honey, Tiny snakes, Giant monitors, Frogs... It's all in this week's Chasing Tone!

No Context, Not Engaged

Listened to an episode. There’s potential here I want to think, but these guys talk in a way that excludes listeners. I didn’t feel like I was spoon fed context to what they were referring throughout the subjects they went into. I had no idea what they were on about. As a Rogan fan—he got me into podcasts—you never need to google what he’s talking about.

Good luck guys. You seem cool enough. Hope to catch a better episode.
