Chelsea Leyland on removing your mask and living your truth, being of service and the healing power of medical cannabis Active Ingredient Podcast

    • Self-Improvement

Chelsea Leyland rose to it-girl status by DJing some of the most covetable fashion and art events and has traveled the world playing for Chanel, Vogue, the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, and many other impressive events. But at some point along the way, she felt as though she was quote un quote "living the dream" but felt entirely unfulfilled. Something most people didn't know during her rise to fame was that not only was she was coping with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy, which she has been battling since her early teenage years, but she has also been coping with her older sister, Tamsin's, very severe epileptic journey as well. For the last two years, she has been treating her epilepsy with CBD after weaning herself off of all pharmaceutical drugs and through this experience she has become a leading advocate for the de-stigmatization of both epilepsy and medicinal cannabis, fighting on behalf of her sister and patients everywhere for fair access to safe cannabis medicine. On today's episode we talk about having to really dig deep to the root of why it is we do certain things, we talk about how during her DJ years she felt as though she was wearing a mask and wasn't fully aligned with her purpose, we get into her introduction to cannabis, how she went from hiding her condition to now co-producing and featuring in the documentary "Separating The Strains" which explores the medicinal cannabis industry and the world of epilepsy and other neurodegenerative diseases and ultimately we get into how she defines success these days.
