Hi, Chanel here. Tiffy and I call each other every day and have found that our conversations comfort each other and always stray back to our nutty childhoods. One day, Tiffany shipped me a microphone and told me to write down a list of memories that we’d only share once recording. And so, this little podcast was born. Will you learn scientific facts? NOPE. Is any of it backed by psychological research? NEEOOTTTT AT ALL. Is it deep? NATTA REELEEE. Are you going to be confused who’s talking because our voices are similar? VERY YES. Each episode we’ll unpack each other’s memories and hope that your own obscure childhood memories will resurface in humorous and tender ways.
Goodbye for Never
Hello our beloved listeners, in this Thanksgiving episode we talk about our journey so far on this podcast and what our plans are for the future. We really love you and thank you for all of your support!
Tell Me One Benefit of Going Down a Water Slide
We're back! Thank you for letting us take a hiatus—this episode has extra laughs and email submissions for you. Today we're TOGETHER and discuss first crushes, water parks, spam fried rice, COLONIAL DAY (?????), Freaky Friday, weddings with informational plaques, pet peeves, childhood games, and much more.
Happy Lunar New Year
Today we begin our episode with a grounding exercise that goes off the rails. We sing Hilary Duff, celebrate white rabbit candy and haw flakes, and try to understand why, as children, we used to be obsessed with filling out fake paperwork. Most importantly, we process and reflect on violence against Asian Americans and hope you’ll listen and send in messages to continue this conversation. Holding space for sadness is just as important as creating joy. Sending love to all, Chanel and Tiffy.
The Singing Episode
In today's episode, we reflect on childhood injuries, BOP IT!, our relationship growing up, and finally wrap it all up by singing a heartfelt song to one of our listeners. Enjoy and take care of yourself 3
Highs n Lows
We end 2020 with one of our favorite episodes yet. In this episode, we recap our 2020 highs and lows, which include: Chanel’s toolkit for coping with regression & anxiety and Tiffy's toolkit for disordered eating. We talk about our fur babies, mean lunch ladies, Chinese buffets. Your email submissions had us wheeze laughing and we were honored to share some. Thank you all for listening during this dark year and for reflecting with us on the strangeness and whimsy of childhood. We love you we love you we love you!
We're Stuck in a Pandemidoo
In today's episode, Chanel and Tiff are reunited in real life for an out of control pod sesh. We revisit the sacred Olive Garden, least favorite holidays, odd idioms, Disneyland, Blockbuster and more.
Thank you both <3
I’m so happy that y’all did this podcast :) I was so moved by your book Chanel and when I saw you and your wonderful sister were doing a podcast, I had to check it out!! I’m so glad I did, your conversations remind me of conversations between my sister and I and help relieve my anxiety. Happy Birthday Tiffany!!! Chanel I love you!!
I’m not sure how I missed knowing about Chanel sooner but I’m so happy that, that is no longer my reality 🏻🏻 I listened to the we can do hard things episode with Chanel so many times and finding this pod with Tiffany has been such a gift!! This is the best of humanity, I’ll revisit this podcast for the rest of my life ❤️🔥
Love this so much!
I listen to a lot of podcasts, but this is my first time leaving a review. Tiffany and Chanel instantly felt like my kind of people; their weird matches my weird, and listening to this podcast always makes me feel like it’s okay to be myself. They’re so goofy & funny, and they have such a sweet relationship. Also, I relate so hard to many aspects of their childhood as a first generation Chinese American with a big sister. Highly recommend!
