Chooch On The Loose

Chooch On The Loose is a podcast where I discuss the trashy, beautiful, magical, unpopular, ugly and annoying parts of life (as I know it) while I navigate the world (and figure shit out on a whim) as a Black + Puerto Rican single mother (who speaks Spanglish better than Spanish), a confidante, and a lover of food, libations, family, sophista-ratchet activities, luxury, opulence and love of all kinds. This podcast is probably not safe for your kids or your work.

    Happy Like Mary F****n Poppins

Today it's just me, myself and Irene. Who the f**k is Irene, tho? Why do people say this saying? But for real, it's just me. I'm really fucking happy lately and May is Mental Health Awareness Month. I talk through how I think I got to this place where I'm happy as Mary F****n Poppins and give some encouragement and advice that no one asked for on how to (maybe) find your own happy place.  ++++ Check out our website thesolcollective.org! Treat yourself to tees, sweatshirts & mugs - some inspired by our podcast and some that encourage self-love & self-reflection. I published a whole ass guided book called "Fuck Those Voices: A Love Letter & Journal For Women Who Live With Trauma." It's a guided journal with affirmations, reflection prompts & stories of my trauma healing journey to help women begin the process of healing themselves.  Use code "Chooch" for $4 off any purchase over $30 on our website. Showing Up How TF I Am + Poetry In Ur Ear

Going thru a pre-midlife crisis and I don't have it in me to interview guests and edit podcasts. I'm committed to showing up however the fuck I am and doing what feels right intuitively. Today, all I have in me is a quick update and poetry. The piece I'm reading is called "Who's The Next Lucky Girl" and I wrote it in 1999 when I was 13 shortly after I was raped for the first time. When It Comes To My Mom Skills, Judge UrSelf!

Hey Boos Hey! In this episode, I'm joined again by one of my best friends, Jillian Mazzariello-Ahee (you may remember her from our previous episode about infertility). We talk about our starkly different parenting styles and how we've supported each other on our motherhood journeys even though we hardly ever agree on each other's approaches. We talk about co-sleeping, Judge Ass Judys of parenting (fuck y'all), some dumb invention called the Owlet, old school Puerto Rican mom remedies we were taught, raising your kid to be independent and a host of other shit. Our lives have never been in sync, but one thing that's never wavered is our love for each other and commitment to our relationship. I'd die and kill for her and that's that on that.  ++++ Check out our website thesolcollective.org! Toxic Positivity & Other Shit W/ My Token Gay White Boyfriend

Hey Boos Hey! In this episode, I'm joined by a long time college friend, Jacob Brodsky. He holds the esteemed title of being one of my token gay white friends (actually, I think I only have ONE friend that is both white AND gay, so, he's extra special). We touch on why toxic positivity doesn't help people or situations, how words and thoughts become things, different things we do to manifest shit in our lives and shift our mindsets and a whole bunch of other random shit because that's what friends tend to do when they talk.   ++++ Our website is live at thesolcollective.org!
