The End of Average with Todd Rose

The End of Average with Todd Rose

Todd Rose, author of two best-selling books, Dark Horse and The End of Average, joins us on this special edition of the podcast to talk about The End of Average: "The assumption that average-based yardsticks like academic GPAs, personality tests, and annual performance reviews reveal something meaningful about our ability is so ingrained in our consciousness that we never question it. But this assumption, argues Harvard scientist Todd Rose, is spectacularly wrong." How can changing our one-dimensional approach to practices such as hiring change our ability to build truly inclusive workplaces where anyone can see themselves belonging, thriving, and doing meaningful work?

Exactly what we need

I’m looking forward to seeing this space in equity and inclusion expanded upon in a thoughtful and thought provoking way.

Culture and Values

I loved episode #3 on the interview process. As a hiring manager, I understand the importance of an aligned interview process that includes standard questions and talking points. The hosts highlight the pitfalls of interviewing and hiring. What is culture fit? Is culture fit connected to company values? Are those values explicit and clear?
