Pastor Kirk addresses the terms elect and foreknowledge in 1 Peter 1:2. No forced relationship is joyful and God would not force us to surrender to Him. God's determined purpose was that He wanted to save men. He knew His Son would have to come to die for our sin. God know we would need to choose to obey God to be saved. Similar to a doctor's prognosis, God had a prognosis before the founding of the earth for the dilema of man. God provided everything we need to be saved: a Savior, the law to point out sin's existence, and conviction. God moves us toward salvation by providing conviction. God provided salvation and left it to man to choose to accept it.
