Cosmic Treadmill Presents... Comix Tawk, Episode 8: Reboots

This time out, we went through the history of comic book reboots and relaunches... and the resulting law of diminishing returns.  It's a frustratingly fun chat... have your cork-boards and red yarn at the ready and see if you can help US keep things straight!

Cosmic Treadmill Presents... Comix Tawk, Episode 5: Decompression & Writing For the Trade

Cosmic Treadmill Presents... Comix Tawk, Episode 5: Decompression & Writing For the Trade

This time out we discuss the not-so-secret phenomenon of writing "for the trade".  When did it begin to take over the mainstream comics industry... and, after all years since, is it still just something the fandom "imagined up"?
It's a lean and mean episode discussing excessively padded pablum... you won't wanna miss it!

Cosmic Treadmill Presents... Comix Tawk, Episode 4: Collecting, Completionism, & Addiction

From the Patreon Archives, an off-the-cuff... and nearly off-the-rails discussion between Reggie and I regarding the origins of comics collect-ability, and how the comics industry has come to count on (and perhaps, exploit) the obsessive and addicted!  Also, the concepts of passive peer-pressure, and "tipping points" in collecting.

Cosmic Treadmill Presents... Comix Tawk, Episode 3: "No, Sir... We Don't Like it!"

From the Patreon Archives, a topic inspired by Jeremiah Jones-Goldstein, wherein Reggie and I discussed the characters in comics that we never quite glommed onto.  We open by explaining the long-running Cosmic Treadmill gag of my snoring anytime DC's The Spectre would show up in a story... and move on from there.  We had a blast with this one, and we hope you can tell!
Surely to be a contentious topic... prepare to disagree with some of our picks!

    Morituri Mondays, Episode 21 - Strikeforce: Morituri #21 (9/88)

    Morituri Mondays, Episode 21 - Strikeforce: Morituri #21 (9/88)

Is it too late to turn back?
That's right, folks... it's a new day for Strikeforce: Morituri and Morituri Mondays.  Out with the old, and in with the new... for better or worse.  Gone are Peter B. Gillis and Brent Anderson... and in their place, James Hudnall and Huw Thomas.  Will it be too much of a shock for our systems to properly process?  We encourage you to tune in and find out!
Would it help if we told you there'll be a full-grown man wearing a diaper for the entirety of the issue?  No?  Then forget we said anything...
Also: A discussion of What The--?!, a Pro-File of Editor Bobbie Chase, the Evolutionary War rolls on, Pitchforce: Morituri returns reimagining our favorite team as professional wrestlers, and much much more!

Cosmic Treadmill Presents... Comix Tawk, Episode 2: Dreaded Deadline Doom

Cosmic Treadmill Presents... Comix Tawk, Episode 2: Dreaded Deadline Doom

The second episode of Comix Tawk featured our conversation regarding Dreaded Deadline Doom... how missed deadlines have affected the comics industry dating back to the yesteryear of publication, how a certain tall Editor and Chief sought to fix that... and how it all went back to pot once mainstream writers decided it would be cool to "slum it" in comics.  It's a pretty heated conversation... and the sort of discourse you don't usually hear on the main Chris and Reggie feed.  Enjoy!

One of the Best

Chris and Reggie's Cosmic Treadmill is one of the best podcast I have ever listened to. I am a huge comic book fan and lifetime collector. The amount of research and wide variety of topics that they cover is awesome. Are you interested in the history of comics from the Golden Age? Then you'll enjoy this podcast. Would you rather hear about modern comics or something from the Bronze Age? Then you'll enjoy this podcast. Two great guys who have a great rapport with each other. This is a entertaining podcast and informative.

Learn and Laugh

You know that class you had in college where you fell in love with a subject because your professor was so enthusiastic about it? That’s what this show is like. Chris and Reggie do DEEP dives into the comics of yesterday and today. They bring the research and the fun. And the crazy voices are the best. Seriously, listen to your new favorite show!
