Chasing Faith: Episode 7 - Mark Hurst
Mark Hurst is the founder and CEO of Creative Good, the New York-based consultancy and creative platform that he founded in 1997. He has spent his career writing, speaking, and advising teams about how to create better products and services. For over two decades, Mark Hurst and his team at Creative Good have advised a wide range of clients - in media, healthcare, technology, financial services, ecommerce, and more - about how to build better businesses by treating customers well.
Since fall 2017 Hurst has hosted Techtonic - techtonic.fm - a weekly FM radio show on WFMU.
Chasing Faith: Episode 6 - Monika Estrada Guzman
Our guest today is Monika Estrada Guzman, the program director for Nido de Esperanza. Monika holds an MSW from NYU’s Silver School of Social Work. Monika and her mom immigrated to California in 1986 from Guatemala. She graduated with a Social Work degree from California State University, Los Angeles in 2004. She was one of the Co-leaders for the Latinx Social Work Student Organization. Monika was one of the 13 pioneering students of the full semester in Buenos Aires MSW program. Monika is interested in working with immigrant Latino families, children and youth. She knows first-hand about the immigrant experience.
Chasing Faith: Episode 5 - Nicole
Nicole is the Director of Spiritual Formation here at Christ Church. She is a recent transplant to NYC, originally born and raised in southern California. She received her B.A. in Sociology and Religion at California Lutheran University, then went on to Duke University, where she received her Master in Divinity. She moved home to pursue a year long residency in hospital chaplaincy, then moved into the role of Associate Pastor at Anaheim UMC. She was recently commissioned as a Deacon in the California-Pacific conference, meaning she is officially a Reverend y’all! Outside of church she loves traveling, live music, soccer, learning new things, and anything else that displays the beauty and brilliance of God’s creation. Nicole is passionate about creating spaces that seek to offer a safe environment for spiritual discernment, questioning, learning, and growth. Through her own life experiences she believes that these opportunities are vital to a strong relationship with the Divine, with oneself, and with the community. Through her role as Director of Spiritual Education, Nicole will be a part of creating retreats, curating forums, offering discussion groups, and leading children’s education. She loves one on one conversation and would love to get to know you over a cup of coffee!
