Brings back the excitement of July 1969

Althought I was not a resident of Houston at the time, this brings back memories of the Space Race and the decade of the 1960's. Great that Houston's Daily Newspaper is bringing us this opportunity to be washed over with a feeling of actually being there!

I love this podcast! I wouldn’t call myself a space nerd... just a normal nerd... and this podcast is the perfect amalgamation of nifty, space tech-talk, cultural flashbacks, and wry contemporary criticisms. I hope we never touch down on that big, shiny rock in the sky so I can keep listening here at KHCN, week after week.

So convincing, it's amazing

Braiding news from Vietnam with gossip about Elvis and the Beatles, astronauts on Apollo 9 and 10, and JFK's call for a moon landing, this podcast funnels all the fervor of the 60s into a developing story about the space race. I love how it recreates Space City (Houston, TX!) with real reporters covering the events of the space race in real time--I feel like I've slid back to 1969. "And the time at the tone is 2 pm!" And, I'm also impressed by all of the ads and news talk that have been made today by the podcast people--you'd never know! If you're into historic speeches (hi JFK), old-school radio ads (anyone need a leisure suit?), rock music, lunar modules, and 'space talk' this podcast is for you. I've listened to all of them twice!!!
