Changed my life!

The presense of Cinema Junkie is invaluable to San Diego and the Thelma Schoonemaker interview literally changed my life as an editor! I could not recommend a better film podcast from a smart, passionate curator. I genuinely don't have enough good things to say, so listen up yourself! It's an essential for fans of film!

Nitrate nirvana

I can only wish I had had the opportunity to see one of my favorite classic films, Laura (1944), on which I did my master's thesis, screened in nitrate this year at TCM's film festival. But I found out about it the day of, too late to drive to Los Angeles. Nevertheless hearing this podcast was almost like being there, as all present during the interview adopted hushed and awed tones when the print was reportedly delivered and brought into the projection area! Thanks to the Egyptian Theater for retrofitting and safety protecting their booth so this and other films could be experienced today the way audiences in the 1940s got to experience them. One day I hope to see a nitrate film projected, especially one I like as well as Laura.
