Meta-Call 234: Lurrus Ban and The Good Old Days of Competitive Play
Subscribe to Modern Meta-Call iTunes Feed
This week, Corey and Darrel talk about the Lurrus ban and then intend to cover some MTG Historic shenanigans but get TOTALLY sidetracked by a good discussion on the state of competitive play and it seems completely inappropriate to go there by the end of the podcast so instead we reminisce about the “old days” of attending in-person tournaments and the new world of MTG’s digital emphasis.

Customer Reviews
Excellent Podcast
The two co-hosts are clearly experienced players and provide quite a bit of valuable insight into the game-especially Modern.
Great balance between tournament coverage & brewing
I’ve listened to these guys since the beginning when there were around 100 co-hosts on the cast :) Now Cory and Daryl (bigdeezyrider on Twitch) run the podcast. I love their balance between weekly tournament coverage, MtG news, their assessments of new cards/tech., and their brews. I finally decided to write a review after listening to episode #102. In that episode, their conversation about how to play/beat Jace, the Mind Sculptor in Modern was the most comprehensive and beneficial coverage I have heard on a podcast (or YouTube video) since the unbanning announcement yesterday. If you haven’t yet, I recommend giving Card Knock Life a listen!
