His coaching career unofficially started while on injured reserved for the 1985 Bears and over the next three decades he saw stints for five different franchises, and eight different cities, including coming just a yard short of a Super Bowl title. He also found time for his other passion, which is appropriately....fishing.
Inside this edition of Coaches Clubhouse, Nicole Auerbach talks to RB Salzburg Manager Jesse Marsch. After a coaching career in the MLS and with the US Men's National Team, Marsch landed in Austria in 2019 and proceeded to become the first American manager to win a top flight European league, as well as the first American to coach in the Champions League. He's also found time to pursue his other passion, traveling. He and his family have visited almost 70 countries, including a 6 month trip around the world in 2012.
On this edition of Coaches Clubhouse, Nicole Auerbach talks to Hall of Fame Stanford women's basketball coach Tara VanDerveer. The trailblazing coach has seen first hand the evolution of women's sports in America, from a promising youth player with no organized competitive outlet, to coaching the USA Women's National Team to a gold medal at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, with a few college national titles thrown in as well. They also discuss her love of music, which prompted her to take up the piano as a release after the Olympic success.

He has amazing stories from his time coaching, and winning, at every level of football, like befriending a young graduate assistant named Bill Walsh, stepping away from the game shortly after a run to the Super Bowl and bribing a kicker with a bottle of wine. After growing up in the Napa Valley, he's come full circle and started his own wine label after retiring from football. He discusses his love of wine, and even gives some recommendations.
Inside this edition of Coaches Clubhouse, Nicole Auerbach talks to D-D Breaux, who just announced her retirement after 43 years leading the LSU Gymnastics program. They discuss how she grew the program from a club sport when she was hired as a graduate student in 1977, into a top 10 powerhouse. She also has a passion for gardening, a hobby she picked up from her parents and is now passing down to her grandchildren.
