Alexis shares ways to talk to our children about race, culture and some of her experiences as a child. Amanda dives into the power the media plays in perpetuating stereotypes and the responsibility we have as parents. The hosts laugh about the anthem of the summer and reminisce over their favorite 2000’s hits. Alexis is shocked to learn Amanda never knew the meaning of one of her favorite rap songs. Where does the responsibility lie in teaching our children about breaking stereotypes and racism, formal education? Or do parents hold all the power?

I HAVE FOUND MY PEOPLE

Okay, SO stoked about this podcast. Heard about it though Marissa the Milk Mom and as soon as I saw the title, I was sold. This is the podcast I wish I had available when I first had my daughter (Dec ‘19) and started realizing that Attachment Parenting is what I naturally gravitated toward (but felt like I couldn’t connect with anyone in my real life circle about it). I feel like everything I believe and have chosen to do about parenting is being affirmed in listening to Amanda and Alexis and their guests. Put it this way, I just discovered this podcast yesterday and have already listened to 7 of the episodes and about to start another 😁 Thank you guys for what you do!!!
