The summum bonum – consists in obtaining the powers of the Holy Priesthood – D&C 128:11

There is a powerful connection with the powers of the Holy Priesthood also known as the Melchizedek Priesthood, and receiving revelation, calling and election made sure, sealing power, and every other blessing and power under heaven. For this priesthood is the supreme power from which all others are derived. Below are many teachings from Joseph Smith and others showing these powerful connections. As you read each one, let the spirit begin to open your eyes, heart, and mind to the power that it contains. Then kneel before God and plead for more strength and power to yield this power more righteously, that it can change and transform you into an instrument in His hands to bring about much good in this generation.

Stand ye in holy places, and be not moved - Doctrine and Covenants 87:8 - Come, Follow Me Ponderize

Stand ye in holy places, and be not moved - Doctrine and Covenants 87:8 - Come, Follow Me Ponderize

Stand ye in holy places, and be not moved - Doctrine and Covenants 87:8 - Come, Follow Me Ponderize and Commentary

Wherefore, stand ye in holy places, and be not moved, until the day of the Lord come; for behold, it cometh quickly, saith the Lord. Amen.

It is not enough to have stood in holy places before, you must stand and not be moved.

I simply love what Brigham Young said in one of his discourses.

"I have come to this conclusion, which I have preached for years and years and years, and Joseph preached it up to the time of his death, that the people must leave Babylon and confusion behind them, and be the servants and handmaidens of the Lord; they must be His family. They have gathered out from Babylon, and they must prepare themselves to stand in holy places, preparatory to the coming of the Son of Man. I have been watching and waiting, just as steadily, and as earnestly and faithfully as ever a mother watched over an infant child, to see when this people would be ready to receive the doctrine, or the first lessons or revelations given when the Center Stake of Zion was first located to consecrate their property, and be indeed the servants and handmaidens of the Lord, and labor with all their hearts to do His will and build up His kingdom on the earth..."

We have to be all in and completely converted unto the Lord. We are gods in embryo, and with that comes the awesome responsibility of actually doing the work to become like God. We must be striving for that goal each and everyday of our lives. President John Taylor put it this way:

God has called us to stand in holy places, and has placed upon us the responsibility of the Priesthood. He expects us to be as true to that Priesthood and to the administration thereof as the Gods are in the eternal worlds.

Wow, what a great quote! Let us all step up our game a bit more and be more aligned with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Let us always stand in holy places and be not moved, no matter what comes our way. Let us always stand for Christ and be a witness of Him in all our thoughts, words, and deeds.

Every one that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit - D&C 84:47

Every one that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit - D&C 84:47

Every one that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit - D&C 84:47 - Come, Follow Me Ponderize and Commentary

    Doctrine and Covenants 84:47
And every one that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit cometh unto God, even the Father.

43 And I now give unto you a commandment to beware concerning yourselves, to give diligent heed to the words of eternal life.

Not just a little heed/obedience or not occasional heed, but diligent heed is what is required.

44 For you shall live by every word that proceedeth forth from the mouth of God.

What are the sources where we can find the word of the Lord? For sure our scriptures, General Conference talks, and church magazines, but the Lord will now share with us one of the most impactful sources for us personally.

45 For the word of the Lord is truth, and whatsoever is truth is light, and whatsoever is light is Spirit, even the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
46 And the Spirit giveth light to every man that cometh into the world; and the Spirit enlighteneth every man through the world, that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit.
47 And every one that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit cometh unto God, even the Father.

Obedience to personal revelation through the Light of Christ is how we come unto God, even the Father. As we learn to hear and obey and then we will be given more and more light, until we are like unto Christ. Decide today to hear and obey more diligently.

Let not your minds turn back - Doctrine and Covenants 67:14 - Come, Follow Me Ponderize

Let not your minds turn back - Doctrine and Covenants 67:14 - Come, Follow Me Ponderize

Let not your minds turn back; and when ye are worthy, in mine own due time, ye shall see and know that which was conferred upon you by the hands of my servant Joseph Smith, Jun. Amen.

The footnote for turn, takes us to Doctrine and Covenants 133:14–15. This is talking about our day and for those preparing for the bridegroom to come.

14 Go ye out from among the nations, even from Babylon, from the midst of wickedness, which is spiritual Babylon.
15 But verily, thus saith the Lord, let not your flight be in haste, but let all things be prepared before you; and he that goeth, let him not look back lest sudden destruction shall come upon him.

So, there are two aspects of this, one is spiritual and the other is physical. “For I, the Lord God, created all things, of which I have spoken, spiritually, before they were naturally upon the face of the earth” (Moses 3:5). We will be asked to physically flee Babylon, but before we will even want to physically flee, we must spiritually flee Babylon or wickedness. We learn from Lot’s wife, how absolute we must flee and not turn back in our minds or physically.

    Genesis 19:12–17, 24-26
12 And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:
13 For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the Lord; and the Lord hath sent us to destroy it.
14 And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the Lord will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.
15 And when the morning arose…continue at https://spiritualcrusade.com/2021/07/let-not-your-minds-turn-back-doctrine-and-covenants-6714-come-follow-me-ponderize-and-commentary.html

Blessed is he that keepeth my commandments - Doctrine and Covenants 58:2 - Come, Follow Me Ponderize Commentary

Blessed is he that keepeth my commandments - Doctrine and Covenants 58:2 - Come, Follow Me Ponderize Commentary

    Doctrine and Covenants 58:2

For verily I say unto you, blessed is he that keepeth my commandments, whether in life or in death; and he that is faithful in tribulation, the reward of the same is greater in the kingdom of heaven.

There are really 3 parts to this scripture that I would like to discuss.

    1. blessed is he that keepeth my commandments

    2. whether in life or in death

    3. he that is faithful in tribulation, the reward of the same is greater in the kingdom of heaven

Blessed is he that keepeth my commandments

Commandments are divinely given rules to follow. And why do we even have them in the first place? For sure we will be judged by them at the great and last day. But surely, there is more to it than just a list of rules to follow just to follow them?

If you follow the footnotes it takes us to Psalm 19:9–11

9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

The fact that the judgments or the commandments being judged upon are desired more than fine gold or sweet honey, is very instructive. If we back up just 2 verses...(Continue Reading on the web https://spiritualcrusade.com/2021/05/blessed-is-he-that-keepeth-my-commandments-doctrine-and-covenants-582-come-follow-me-ponderize-commentary.html)

He will gather his people even as a hen - Doctrine and Covenants 29:2 - Come, Follow Me Ponderize

He will gather his people even as a hen - Doctrine and Covenants 29:2 - Come, Follow Me Ponderize

    Podcast by: Craig Conover

Who will gather his people even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, even as many as will hearken to my voice and humble themselves before me, and call upon me in mighty prayer.

The Roman historian Plutarch taught, "And we have before our eyes every day the manner in which hens care for their brood, drooping their wings for some to creep under, and receiving with joyous and affectionate clucks others that mount upon their backs or run up to them from every direction; and though they flee from dogs and snakes if they are frightened only for themselves, if their fright is for their children, they stand their ground and fight it out beyond their strength.”

Mother hens would rather die protecting their chicks than to protect their own life. How applicable it is, for the Savior to compare Himself to a hen, for He truly fought for and died for us. Through the power of the Father, He was resurrected and now stands at His right hand. The decision to be gathered unto Him is ours.
