I can’t tell you how many times couples and those who seek relationship came into my office and felt shame with self-recrimination that they didn’t know how to bring common sense to their relationship issues.
I’ve watched people tear themselves apart.. criticize themselves.. think they were idiots and dumb s***s because they have this idea that relationship should be easy, common sense and that we should all be born with the skills to do it really well.
I can’t tell you how much of a disservice this point of view is.
