Prior to joining Cornell, Peter worked as a reference librarian at East Carolina University and the University of Washington. In 2000, he co-founded Serials Solutions, which was acquired by ProQuest in 2004. In 2009, he co-founded ShipIndex.org, which helps people do research on vessels.
