Weekly preaching and teaching from Community Bible Church
What are Jesus' standards for disciples?
Last week we looked at the word the New Testament uses in places for Jesus: Kyrios, The Lord of all. So in light of that, this week we consider what that makes us. We look at what Jesus described as the standard of essentials for being His disciples.
Do we understand what we mean by Lord?
This week we address the question: what do New Testament writers mean when they refer to Jesus as Lord? In the Old Testament LORD/Lord is both a name of God and His title, so how are New Testament writers using it? Do we use "Lord" today without fully understanding all it entails?
The Temple of the Lord
As we search Jeremiah 7:1-10, we ask the question, are we approaching God and Church with honor and reverence?
This Easter as we celebrate Christ's resurrection we look at the cross and empty tomb and their significance.
How do we move from being Martha to Mary?
This week we look at Jesus' encounter with Martha and Mary. We examine what Jesus meant when He said Martha was distracted, and we look at the ripple effects of what being distracted from Jesus does to our life. We also consider how He described Mary's behavior and ask ourselves if we're as deliberate in our own life?
This week we pause our series to look at how we want to define the culture of CBC. We'll examine what contributes to culture and then we'll discuss how we want to see our culture transform and grow.
The services are great to go back and listen to but the chats with James and Sam are an amazing bonus
