Each week, Compete Every Day's Chief Encouragement Officer Jake Thompson talks with competitors from all walks of life - business, sports, fitness, entrepreneurship, & more to find out how they succeed in life. We share their stories of triumph & habits implemented to remind you that your life is worth competing for & provide a blueprint for your journey.
Who's In Control of It?
You are responsible for your controllables. If you want to be a Champion or person of success, plan to learn discipline and control "it" every day.
Fit for Success with Nick Shaw
It’s important to find a sense of balance or stability, even at the most unstable points in our lives. This week, RP founder Nick Shaw talks about using free time to work on larger projects and being sure to save time for relaxation and mental recharging to avoid burnout. It isn’t always possible to align your time exactly the way you want to, but by focusing on the things that are in your control, you can start to make better decisions about how to use the hours you have.
Watching Out for Worry
Worry and fear are feelings & thoughts based on a future where things don't go our way. We get caught in a trap when we don't practice mindfulness & being in the present.
Don't let worrying about what may not even happen be what keeps you from working toward becoming a winner.
Fine Tune Your Focus to Fuel Your Motivation
You have 100% control on your daily focus - make sure you fine-tune it to the right things so you can keep your momentum moving forward every day.
Let Your BURN Be Bright with Mental Performance Coach Ben Newman
Oftentimes, people look forward, wondering what opportunities might be just over the horizon, rather than seeking out connections and partnerships they have access to right now. It’s OK to take a leap into the unknown, but don’t forget to find ways of helping out those around you, too. There may be surprising opportunities that stem from those conversations, says this week’s guest, podcaster and coach Ben Newman.
Don't Forget to Watch the Tape
How do you expect to get better if you don't watch the game-tape? A powerful lesson on the importance of review, reflection, & proactively working to get better.
The best start to your day!
As a former softball player I’ll always be an athlete. So naturally I gravitated towards Compete Everyday. I found Jake’s podcast through (formerly Dallas) Fitness Ambassadors. We’re a group of bloggers, trainers and coaches who all have different purposes but we work together to give our communities unique (virtual and IRL) health and wellness experiences. Jake’s podcast helps me get in the right mindset to start my day! Preparing for my clients, coaching classes, my own workouts and all the aspects of my business that I dislike- practice makes better and Jake’s here to see us through those challenges so we can succeed on our own court!
Time to compete!
Not sure what took me so long to write this review, I’m a long time loyal listener! I love Jake’s energy, his approach, his perspective, and his philosophy. Compete Every Day is an invaluable mindset for anyone in sports or business!
Captivating, Inspirational and Innovative
If you are look for a mind opening and frankly content that will strike a nerve deep within your soul... this is your podcast!
