Kind of disappointing

I listened to a few episodes and I’m not exactly sure where she’s coming up with her facts about military life, phases, etc. I didn’t like the way she talked about the different types of military spouses and stereotypes-it seemed like she was more or less just feeding into the negative stereotypes instead of viewing us all as military spouses in different situations. That is the kind of thing that just perpetuates the stereotypes and discord between spouses. And the rules for not being a dependa when she talks about photos…just let people have nice things. If you like it, do it. Why do seasoned spouses or active duty members and their jaded opinions get to dictate what you do for yourself? I feel like she is on the dependa pages creating drama. I’ve been a spouse for 10 years, I’ve never had any of these “dependa photos” done, and I have never been sucked into drama because I take myself out of situations where it is getting dramatic. She seems like she wants to help, but she is coming across as talking crap about people instead of being positive. Disappointing.

Super basic

I kind of can’t believe how basic and vapid and just air headed this podcast is. I listened to a couple of episodes to give it an honest try, but after listening to the silver linings episode I had to share for others to know what they’re getting in to. At one point she says she loves that her kids get to move because it teaches them diversity, going on to say how happy she is that her daughter learned that “racism doesn’t exist anymore” at her new school. Just....what? Is that a joke? Look around at what’s been going on. She also mentions how grateful she is to get the chance to redecorate and clear out all the junk every three years as if that’s unique to her experience as a military spouse? Idk just overall I found myself muttering “are you joking” aloud several times while listening. If these are the few bright sides she can muster up to being a military spouse she has bent over backwards to try to make the most out of the situation. Which is great for her.
