Mental/Emotional Side of Fitness

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you Jeremy Reid! I have gone through a lot in my life and have lost about 70 pounds and gained it all back, lost another 50 and gained that all back- all within the same five years. 2019 for me was a year full of positives in multiple aspects of my life, but my weight continued to stay the same and I could not motivate myself to even go to the gym. A lot of people in my life think it’s just so easy to go to the gym and eat right, but they don’t realize the mental and emotional side of this journey. I honestly thought I was just going to be stuck like this because I wasn’t able to get myself back into the old version of who I was. I literally typed fitness podcast into iTunes and this was the first one I saw, and I was completely shocked to see the titles of some of the episodes. Seeing mental health in a fitness podcast really opened my eyes. After an abusive relationship and suffering depression/anxiety, I thought I was never going to be able to start over. I could completely relate to your show and I am beyond thrilled to find a show that can change the way I think and allow me to feel included. I love listening to your episodes as I drive or even when I wake up and feel the urge to fall into my old routine and not do the things I need to do. This show motivates me and makes me feel like I am worth it and my life does not have to stop here. I haven’t felt this motivated or positive about myself for at least four years. Learning to work on myself mentally and emotionally really helps me get myself back into the gym and eating right. I especially love that your wife is just as motivating as you are! I love hearing her stories and opinions because it is very relatable! I recently started eating better and going into the gym (which I sometimes couldn’t even make it in-I just sat in the parking lot and left out of embarrassment) and when I have your podcast on it makes me feel so strong and powerful that no one can change the love I have started to believe I have for myself! Thank you for all of the work you do, I am learning to love myself again and I won’t let anyone stop me! Your words have such an impact and I am extremely grateful that I found your podcast! Thank you for everything!
