- Business
In today’s Episode, Koehler and Mike have a conversation with Kate and James Vermillion, founders of the Wixology Candle Company in Lexington, Kentucky. We discuss the recent successes of owning a small business, along with the trials that come along with starting an entrepreneurial venture.
Wixology Candle Company Story:
Started by a group of friends with a passion for hand-crafted goods, sustainability and a commitment to the community. The Wixology candle line incorporates the spirit of Kentucky bourbon-based cocktails into a multifaceted product. To encourage our customers to recycle their glass, we chose high quality, old-fashioned glasses. These glasses can be reused as cocktail glasses or plain drinking glasses after the candle has been burned.
All of our wax is 100% soy wax and GMO free, grown in the United States, and Kosher Certified. Additionally, they use phthalate-free fragrance oils and lead-free cotton wicks in all our products.
Main Points:
The tactics and momentum that led to James and Kate’s venture into entrepreneurship. The decisions that new entrepreneurs have to make in order to move forward a business The dynamics at play when building out your team in a new business How to make an entrepreneurial venture work with a husband and wife
