Customer Reviews
Great intermediate level podcast!
This podcast has a great structure. The speaking is on average about 80 to 90% comprehensible for an intermediate level learner with some episodes being easier and some harder. That’s exactly the right amount to be able to follow a topic but still be challenged to grow and learn. Also interviewing guests from a variety of different Spanish-speaking countries keeps the listener from becoming too dependent on the speech patterns of one person. If you just listen to a podcast with a couple of people, and no one else, you’ll eventually get very good at understanding them, but not other speakers. I listen to about five different Spanish podcast for this reason, this is one of them!
Still going strong
This is my third year of Spanish and sometimes the going is slow. I visited Ecuador and México last year and realized how much I still needed to learn. I appreciate the consistency of the podcast and the easy listening it provides when I travel the countryside for work. The fact that I now understand 70-80% of the conversations is in and of itself hugely satisfying
Speaks Very Clealy
This podcast is perfect for me as an intermediate learner. Joel and his guests speak Spanish slowly and clearly and I can usually understand 80-90% of the words just by listening. I can grasp the remaining words by looking at the helpful written materials.
