HI, I am Lisanne Iriks and I am deeply passionate about people having the ability to resolve conflict powerfully and negotiate effectively in their lives. I am so passionate about it because I see how much suffering it is causing people on a daily basis and I know that it just does not have to be this way. When people truly get how conflict impacts their life and put the work in to get effective at conflict resolution and negotiation, they get to experience deep connections with other people, freedom, self-expression, love, and happiness!
So what is it that I do? I am a conflict resolution specialist and have been a mediator and facilitator for over 12 years specialising in family mediation and workplace mediation. I have taken thousands for people through the mediation process and I have had the honour to be a finalist for the Australian Mediator of the year award for the last two years. I train, coach, and mentor people to become highly effective in conflict resolution and negotiation so they can create the relationships they want in their homes and their boardrooms.
I am so excited to welcome you to CONVERSATIONS TO CUT THE CONFLICT! This podcast is designed to create actual change in people’s lives and the world.
I am committed to bringing you the conversations, insight, and tools you need for you to switch on your inner conflict resolution and negotiation muscles and get you to a completely different level where you can resolve conflict powerfully and create the relationships you want in your life. Think about it...what would life be like if you would not be afraid of dealing with conflict and you would deal with it easily and quickly. It would change the game dramatically, wouldn't it?
Thank you for being here and being willing to have these conversations and switch on your inner conflict resolution muscle. The world needs people like you!

Ep 23 - If you have ever doubted yourself, this is for you...
I am so excited to share this episode of Conversations to Cut the Conflict with you.
I'm interviewing Ashley Matkovic, the owner of Fusion Biz Co., Perth’s Leading Small Business Community for Female Entrepreneurs.
Ashley is incredible. She built up her business from nothing to now having more than 300 members while being a mum.
Being in business is not always amazing and full of rainbows and sunshine even though it might look like that on social media sometimes and it is important to talk about that. In this episode we cover:
How do you get through the struggles? How do you make difficult decisions? How do you decide to even start a business? How do you get through doubting yourself? And how do you manage being a parent and building a business all at the same time. These topics are relevant to you if you are in business or not. We all ask ourselves these questions.
Ashley shares many great insights and golden nuggets in this episode so you do not want to miss this.
Ep 22 - How your eating habits affects your mood and ability to deal with difficult situations in life
This episode of Conversations to Cut the Conflict is pretty special as I have asked my sister in law to join me for a conversation in this episode about our family conflict and her area of expertise in health and nutrition.
What we talk in this episode:
How important nutrition is for your mood, headspace and ability to perform in life. Why what you eat and when you eat it impacts your mood and headspace, which impacts your ability to deal with difficult situations in life.AND We have an honest conversation in this episode about how we deal with our family conflict. You will find out in this episode if I practise what I preach from the people closest to me.
I almost did not publish this episode because at one point you can hear my kids in the background playing basketball and running up and down the stairs in my house. It is not really a problem for the recording but I was worried it might not sound professional enough.
I recorded this episode a couple of weeks ago, it was a pupil free day and I was helping a friend out so her children were at our house as well. After some thought I decided to publish it anyway, because Imogen and I have a great conversation which I want to share and not everything has to be perfect. And maybe having some background noise it is actually perfect as it is authentic. I am a parent that has to juggle parenting and working and sometimes this is what it looks like!
I really enjoyed recording this episode there is so much in it and I hope you will love it too
Ep 21 - Do you know how to make the best decisions for you?
In this episode I interview Bethan Winn and she is a critical thinking facilitator. You might wonder what that actually is! Bethan will answer that question for you in this episode as I had the same question.
Bethan is knowledgeable and has a great way of explaining concepts in an easy and entertaining manner. We not only talk about what a critical thinking facilitator is, but what critical thinking is.
As human beings we often make decisions quite unconsciously and we are influenced by our environment and our circumstances. Bethan explains how our brain operates, and how we can actually make decisions that are good for us and not based on what other people think and not based on what our environment is telling us to do. This is a great episode to listen to if you are interested in finding out how to make better decisions in your life that works well for you!
Ep 20 - How perception causes conflict and how it can resolve conflict powerfully
In this episode, I'm talking about perception - a topic that's so close to my heart. I love it so much because every time I facilitate conflict resolution training, this is the topic that most of the participants tell me made the the biggest difference to them and often they email me how it changed their life in a positive way.
That is the reason I wanted to share these concepts in my podcast, so you can benefit from it and make changes to your life.
I will discuss how perception causes conflict and how it also can resolve conflict powerfully. When you get how perception works for all human beings you will experience more peace of mind and freedom. So listen to this podcast episode here so you can change your life!
Ep 19 - Wills and estate planning - how to care for your loved ones and prevent conflict when you're gone
In this episode, I am discussing such an important topic! It is a topic that we don't necessarily like to talk about, which is what will happen after we pass away. Nobody likes to think about this, but if you do not organise it well, it can create a lot of family conflict during an already difficult time.
I'm interviewing Lucy Percy from Head and Heart Estate Planning. She helps people to create their wills and does their Estate Planning with them. We talk about how much conflict can occur after people pass away and Lucy gives tips and tricks on how to avoid this as much as possible.
The conversation with Lucy reframed for me how I see wills and estate planning. Instead of dreading thinking about this subject and putting it off, I have reframed it to: How wonderful that we can help to set up our families deal with losing us in the best way possible!
Think about it this way - if you do not organise anything, your loved ones, who are grieving, have to make a lot of decisions. Making decisions is hard when you are grieving at the best of times, but it is even harder when you are not sure what the deceased person would have wanted. This is one of the things that people get in conflict about with each other. Everyone might have a different idea of what you wanted based on how they knew you or what you talked to them about and it can lead to a lot of mess that you could have prevented.
I now look at doing my will and estate planning as a way of taking care of my loved ones when I am no longer there. When your wishes are crystal clear, people can just do what you asked. This way they do not have to make as many decisions while they are grieving and they know they are doing what you wanted them to do, which can give people a lot of comfort.
I really enjoyed this conversation, I learned something new and it was a beautiful conversation in general full of heartfelt stories.

Ep 18 - How self hypnosis can help with your inner conflict
In this episode, I interview Emily Smith from Be Think Do Coaching. Emily is a mind expansion coach who works with her clients through hypnosis. In this episode we discuss what hypnosis actually is, how does it works and how can it help you. We talk about how can you hypnotize yourself to help you work with your inner conflict. What can you do when you worry about “what if people don’t like me”, or how can you help yourself when you want to do something but you feel that you might not want to do it because you think people around you or society may disapprove.
This is a juicy fun filled episode you do not want to miss.
