An IIFX Town Hall Recorded on 19 January 2022

The Innovation Institute for Fan Experience (IIFX) Medical Advisory Board hosted a FANCENTRIC Town Hall with medical experts who discussed Covid-19, its variants, and effects on the Sports & Entertainment industry.

We are inundated with information about COVID-19 and its new variants. Every day brings a new study, recommendation, or contradiction of previous policy. One thing we know is that COVID-19 essentially wiped out the 2020 sports and entertainment year for fans. While things looked up in 2021, Omicron appeared and had an impact on sports and entertainment events. With more than a million infections daily in the United States in January 2022, how will the pandemic unfold for the industry throughout 2022?

The town hall is part of IIFX's FANCENTRIC series of podcasts and forums.  FANCENTRIC productions feature visionary industry thought leaders, advanced practitioners, academics, authors, technologists, and fans from around the world.

This Town Hall Event was moderated by Dr. Til Jolly, MD, the Chief Medical Officer of Aveshka and the Chair of the IIFX Medical Advisory Board.

Panelists included:

Dr. Michael Anderson, MD - Senior Advisor, Aveshka for the Department of Health and Human Services and Children’s National Hospital

Dr. Andy Jagoda, MD - Professor and Chair Emeritus of Emergency Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai

Dr. Robert Nied, MD - Medical Director, Sports Medicine Center at Kaiser Permanente, Mission Bay and the Team Physician for the Golden State Warriors (NBA)

Dr. Eric W. Ossmann, MD, FACEP - Chief Medical Officer and Founder of VIGILINT

Panelists answered questions posed by attendees and shared their wisdom on how Covid 19 and Omicron affects the sports and entertainment industry, its operations, and its fans.  Learn how to navigate your way through the Omicron surge and build resilience for future events.
