Craving the Best Burger, Looking for Fun Ways to Put a Spin on Anything, and Painting Plates Around the World with Jacqueline Poirier Creative Cravings

    • Entrepreneurship

How did today’s podcast guest, Jacqueline Poirier, known as @thecrazyplatelady, go from drawing on the walls as a kid, to creating a thesis on circles, to getting paid to paint on porcelain plates (circular canvases) around the world? Besides her constant craving to be creative, what are her 3 ingredients for living life to the fullest as an artist?
Jaqueline Poirier is The Crazy Plate Lady / Resident Artist at The Ritz Carlton in Toronto, Canada where her hand painted charger plates are showcased throughout TOCA, the hotel’s signature restaurant. She is also an Instagram featured artist, and she chases her cravings to create by collaborating with brands and other creators, and by creating custom pieces for clients. She always squeezes in time to create just for herself, something that truly makes her happy.
Dig in to this episode of Creative Cravings to see why we all agree that “you can’t spell C.R.E.A.T.E , with out E.A.T.” You will not only be inspired to either let your inner artist out or to continue on your path as an artist, but you will also gain some helpful suggestions on ways you can turn your art into a business, as an entrepreneur. Her life-like style of #plart (plates + art) does not just speak for itself, but it actually sparks conversations around tables, across the globe.
It’s true! We could not stop talking about how much we were craving one of her painted slices of cheesecake. And, she shares with us all which food she’s most craving that she’s painted on a plate. Our conversation will bring a smile to your face, especially if you were you the kind of kid who would draw on the walls, create DIY costumes for Halloween, and always got your hands dirty with finger paint. Most of all, Jacqueline will help you remember to embrace the kid-at-heart within you, to jump on opportunities to showcase the work you love doing, and to share your special creative gifts. Bon appétit!
