To tackle this issue, IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel has ordered an immediate moratorium on processing new ERC claims, effective until the end of the year. Rest assured, claims that have already been filed will continue to be processed, albeit at a slower pace. However, it's important to note that the standard processing time of 90 days is expected to extend to 180 days and potentially even longer if selected for review or audit.
