Thanks for shining the light

My dad used to work with Valerie before he passed away last summer. Listening to these podcasts keeps me connected to him and his community in a way. I also appreciate that by shining a light on the unsolved murders perhaps someone will step forward who knows something. Families who have lost loved ones this way need to have the closure before their time on earth comes to an end. Thank you, and keep the podcasts coming!

Crime Behind the Pine Curtain

I just listened to Never Forgotten, the latest episode of the podcast Crime Behind the Pine Curtain.
This episode covered the still unsolved 1974 murder of Officer Edd Williams, who was shot to death when he walked in on a robbery in progress at a Houston apartment complex.
I remember when this happened because Edd had been a Polk County Sheriffs Deputy.
The hosts Valerie Reddell and Tim Martin put together a great show here with guests including law enforcement officers who served with Edd Williams as well as Williams son Yancy who was just a kid at the time.
The series is the podcast equivalent of a Murder Mystery show except more interesting because I’m familiar with most of the locations and even some of the parties involved.
Very interesting historic ramble down the winding dirt roads and dark underbelly of Deep East Texas.
