It is not now uncommon for casters / narrators to use voice cloning when their workload is daunting. It can be exhausting having too many on-mic sessions in a row or crammed for a production week, and this type of cloning is super productive. Since the program is trained with the user’s own voice it has the potential to be practically indistinguishable from the actual. In the first ever episode I just listened to of this show, there were too many weird pace anomalies and an odd lack of the host’s presence, so I had an instinctive sense of the uncanny valley. How many podcasters are using this, I wonder. It’s inevitable the busiest podcasters will be using these tools for most of their tier 2 recordings and housekeeping announcements, as well as main drops when they are on the road outside the studio environment.
