Great podcast!

This podcast provides fascinating slice-of-life profiles of some of history’s most controversial figures. The Benedict Arnold episode was my personal favorite. Isaac and Demetria do a wonderful job of giving the listener the full picture of a person, rather than relying on conventional wisdom and well-worn narratives. Well worth a listen.

Sound Issues Fixed

Using criminal records as a way into social history is a great idea and the conversational presentation style that the hosts use makes the podcast even better. Keep up the good work!

Educational and Entertaining

I have listened to History of Japan; and as Isaac says in the inital episode of this podcast, it's very different. The Japan podcast is tightly structured; this is a conversation between him and his wife, and they have an informal, relaxed banter that nevertheless stays on track. It's not your usual true crime schtick; they explore serious social and political issues by examining what crime means in the context of the society that defines criminal conduct. Yeah, the sound quality is ragged on the early episodes but it's getting better fast. Don't let that hold you back.
