Losing dad to covid- Claire Kirby
Claire Kirby joins the podcast to talk about the loss of her dad John. John sadly passed away during the pandemic. He had recently been given the all-clear from bowel cancer and contracted covid which sadly resulted in his death. Claire talks about how fundraising has helped her deal with her dad's sudden passing and any advice she would give to others who have lost loved ones to covid.

The dreaded c word and living with multiple diagnoses- Karen Bucknall
This week Karen joins the podcast to talk about bowel cancer, vagina cancer and her recent diagnosis of a brain tumour. Karen has been treated at all of our hospitals for various different surgeries. Despite all of the sadness and worry, she has been through she is still smiling and still loves life! We discuss adapting to living life with a colostomy bag and the mental health side of receiving bad news frequently. Karen offers advice to others on what she has been through and most importantly she advises anyone to always get everything checked out.

An 18-month-old defying the odds by living with a rare brain condition- Atlanta Gurdin
This week Atlanta joins the podcast to talk all about her incredible son Arlo who has been defying the odds since he was born. Arlo has a super rare condition called Hydrocephalus which causes fluid to build on the brain. Atlanta talks to me about Arlo's condition, her advice to other parents and how lost she would be without the amazing team at Heartlands Hospital.
