I appreciate how this show constantly turns to scripture to provide context for the cultural realities we face on a day to day basis. The hosts let the Bible speak in an unashamed manner. If you’re in the mood for two guys who seem to have left humility and grace at the door and prefer to spend over an hour trapped in their own echo chamber, then congratulations—you’ve found your show! This podcast is a masterclass in first-half-of-life thinking, sloppily proof-texting their way through Christian Nationalism, with a possible dash of racism (don’t miss the education episode). As a Christian, it's disheartening to hear pastors take on such a Pharisaical tone. In a world desperate for Good News, this show offers little more than a heavy dose of burdens, rules, and shame.

This podcast is one of my favorites for multiple reasons. I love that it delves into many topics the church is often afraid to talk about, such as human sexuality, demons and the spiritual realm, politics, the church's relationship to government, etc. The podcast hosts offer a conservative Christian perspective of plain spoken truth, while never demeaning or belittling those they disagree with. Both men are well educated and can offer intelligent commentary on issues relating to the culture as well as the church. They also have a chemistry and humor that make the podcast fun to listen to. I love hearing topics that many in Christian circles neglect to talk about, and I always learn something new each episode. If you want an intellectually stimulating podcast that talks about relevant cultural issues told from a conservative Christian perspective, this is the podcast for you !!

Current Reality is one of my go-to podcasts. Michael and Wade bring a level-headed, biblical perspective to a broad spectrum of important issues in the church and society at large. I commend the show to any Christian desiring to stay anchored to God’s truth in a confused (and confusing) world.
