This could be an awesome career supporting and educational podcast, but not quite.
First, the Pros: Quality sound production. The hosts bring professional knowledge and insights. It’s almost the only dental assisting media resource.
Now, the Cons: Most episodes are WAY too short! If it’s only going to be less than 10 minutes why even bother. I really feel podcasts should be a minimum of 30 minutes in length (especially if there’s not regularly uploads). It really seems like this podcast only exists to be a commercial for Zen Supplies.
This could be a multi-segmented show which would flesh out the running time. An example, start an episode with a very basic DA concept, technique, definition, instrument etc discussion to help the student DA - then lead into more seasoned DA career topics and discussions - have a guest/interview- Wrap up with a Q &A or “dear Abby” style from listeners.
The biggest Con for me is *the constant pushing of a “side hustle”.* It’s toxic to criticize wanting to make a decent, living wage. Yes, you should love what you do and do it with heart, but also be fairly compensated for the work- DAs should be able to make a professional living wage without the need of a “side hustle”. Having a work-life balance is key for everyone in every job. Yes, work is about making money- otherwise it’s volunteering.
