Turning Passion into Environmental Action with Anna Siegel

Turning Passion into Environmental Action with Anna Siegel

Marie sits down with Anna Siegel - a 13-year-old middle school student and climate activist. She is the lead for ME Strikes, the Maine Chapter of US Youth Climate Strikes (USYCS).

With the ME Strikes team, Anna organized the September 20th global climate strikes, which had over 2,000 youth in attendance at the Portland rally. Right now, she is preparing for Earth Day actions. Along with activism, she is deeply passionate about wildlife and birds.

Anna is a symbol of our future and that future looks bright regardless of the doom and gloom that seems so popular right now.
Young people like Anna symbolize hope – and hope is what makes us believe we can change things. Beliefs are what urge us towards action.

To Quote JFK – “Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future.”

When we have hope and believe we can do something - that’s when the magic happens.
