Work on Your Game, How Dre Baldwin Turned Hustle, YouTube, and Discipline Into a Thriving Business Empire

This week’s Misfit Entrepreneur is Dre Baldwin. Dre is an interesting entrepreneur who owns the brand, Work on Your Game. He is a former pro-basketball player playing in 8 countries during this career. But, he wasn’t a superstar from the start. He had to work harder than anyone and walk on at a division 3 school to get his shot. And he made the most of it succeeding and turning pro. He was an early adopter of YouTube and has a massive following and since leaving pro basketball, he has authored 35 books, created over 400 products, given 4 Ted Talks on Discipline, Confidence, Mental Toughness, and Personal Initiative. His daily Work on Your Game Masterclass has been downloaded over 7.5 million times! Hearing all of that, you can see why I asked him to be on the show and I love his no-nonsense straightforward approach to success because it’s a lot like mine. www.WorkonYourGame.com To see the full show notes and Misfit 3 for this episode, go to www.MisfitEntrepreneur.com. From $0 to $120M, Dominic Rubino’s Secrets to Entrepreneurial Success

This week’s Misfit Entrepreneur is Dominic Rubino. Dominic is an interesting Misfit. He is a serial entrepreneur who’s had businesses in Construction Trades, Contracting, Mail Order, Pharmaceuticals, Real Estate, & Business Coaching. But It took a long time for Dominic to feel like he could call himself an entrepreneur and the turning point came AFTER he took his business from zero to over 120 million in sales (with, as he says, some serious internal dysfunctions!). You may have heard of him, not so much from what I I’ve shared, but as the host of two very popular podcasts, “Profit Tool Belt” and “Cabinet Maker Profit System.” He’s also the author of the book Construction Millionaire Secrets. Domini is a true misfit and Swiss army knife of entrepreneurship, so we’re going to hit on all kinds of topics in this episode. From Orphan to Wall Street CEO: Ed Hajim’s Inspiring Journey of Resilience, Leadership, and Entrepreneurial Success

This week’s Misfit Entrepreneur is Ed Hajjim. Ed is a long-time Wall Street executive and entrepreneur with over 50 years of experience. Most people that hear his origin story are amazed that he ended up where he has. But, in reality, Ed has one of the best stories that is the truest testament to the American Dream and what is possible that I have ever heard. And I’m excited for him to share it today. But first, I mentioned 50 years’ experience. Here is a little bit of Ed’s pedigree… Ed has held senior management positions with the Capital Group, E.F. Hutton and Lehman Brothers before becoming chairman and CEO of Furman Selz. He was the co-chairman of ING Barings, Americas Region; chairman and CEO of ING Aeltus Group and ING Furman Selz Asset Management; and chairman and CEO of MLH Capital. Presently, he is chairman of High Vista, a Boston-based money management company. In 2008, after 20 years as a trustee of the University of Rochester, he began an eight-year tenure as chairman of the university’s board. Upon assuming that office, he gave the school $30 million—the largest single donation in its history—to support scholarships and endow the Edmund A. Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Through his Family Foundation, he has made generous donations to organizations that promote education, health care, arts, culture and conservation. Ed is the author of several books including, the Road Less Traveled: An Unlikely Journey from the Orphanage to the Boardroom. And I’m excited to squeeze as much wisdom as I can from him in our time together in this episode. To see the full show notes and Misfit 3 for this episode, go to www.MisfitEntrepreneur.com.
