DC Dream Center | Episode 105 Good News For The City's Podcast

    • Christianity

On Good News For The City we frequently highlight organizations that are meeting the needs of various communities here in the DMV. It’s a lot of hard work and a lot of times the needs seem insurmountable but these organizations are grinding away. The coronavirus pandemic has added to the needs of these communities such as unemployment, distant learning, no school lunches. These organizations are finding their services needed more now that ever.

The DC Dream Center is one of those organizations serving an area in the greater Washington DC area. Ernest Clover, Director of the DC Dream Center and the Southeast White House joined the show to share how they are making an impact in the community.

Ernest Clover is the Director of the DC Dream Center and the Southeast White House. He was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Ernest graduated from the Defiance College and it was during this time there that he knew he wanted to help people and thought politics would be the best way to accomplish that.

It wasn’t until an internship in 2007, on Capitol Hill, that he was exposed to the thought that
this could happen in a new way by following the teachings of Jesus. During this time on the HiIl, he would volunteer at the Southeast White house. Even though he would go to receive a Master’s in International Relations from the University of Denver, the impact from his time in DC never left him. So when he moved to the DMV he went back to the Southeast White House to be a mentor, where he has served for 6 years.

Ernest is married to Rachel and they have a son named Dylan and a daughter named Makenzie.
