36. Kylie Odetta Shows us all How to Deal With Bullying By Singing & Writing‪!‬ Podcasting Your Global Career

    • Music Interviews

Welcome back to the dHarmic Evolution podcast with me James Kevin O’Connor, singer/songwriter and master storyteller. In today’s episode, I have with me a beautiful young lady who discovered her passion at the early age of 5, and started writing songs at 8---Kylie Odetta.

Kylie Odetta from South Carolina has always known that she wanted to be a musician. From the first time she went on stage and performed at her school’s talent show, she knew right away she wanted to do that for the rest of her life.

Growing up, her musical influences varied. She listened to some Ed Sheeran, Elton John, and she’s been digging jazz! Kylie keeps herself busy nowadays by playing live around the North and South Carolina area. She’s also opened for a lot of big names such as Gavin DeGraw, Colbie Caillat, Austin Mahone, and the like. How awesome is that!

It’s so refreshing to have spoken with Kylie, as her music is top-notch--plus the girl knows her social media marketing! How much more effective can this girl get?

Listen to the entire interview to learn more about Kylie!

On this episode:
You’ll learn how songwriting was for her---as a child! Learn how Kylie was bullied for being “different” because she was more interested in music than caring about who’s popular How she uses social media to promote her music What she plans to share on her next EP which is coming about next year!
Quotes from Kylie:
“It came naturally, and it felt like home to be making music.” “If I had let that completely drown me, I wouldn't be where I am today.” - on being bullied “I'm so glad that the joy I get from music and from writing and from sharing that passion was so much greater than those temporary times of sadness.” “It's just about growing and learning.” -on her evolution as a songwriter “I want to create something that I can replicate live.”-on her plans for her next EP
