The business of coming close to someone is also a place of tremendous vulnerability, and when you feel like you are doing it wrong, or have done it so wrong in the past, it can be deeply humiliating and wounding
I’m still that crystal sitting on the top shelf at Tiffany’s, there just happens to be a vault door and a security guard standing between you and I, and I’m cool with that.
How empty of me it was, to be so full of him.
There is no textbook sign or symptom as to whether or not something should or shouldn’t end, it just does.
Even if the person leaves, the lesson stays, and that is the absolute last f*****g time I will let someone derail my life like that, because the recovery and the rehab for the heart muscle is taking … forever.
If you can survive the abuse, you can survive the recovery. And this battle, was mine.
